Simple Tips For A Super Golf Swing

Even the guys who play golf for a living and get the best golf instruction in the world still struggle to improve their golf; and they practice each and every day! Many golfers play golf just to hack around and have some fun; more avid players are always looking for ways to improve their golf swing and their overall game. Most golfers don't know that eighty percent of the world's golfers have a handicap of 18 or more.

A common mental error golfers make when driving the ball is to hit it as hard as possible. Visualize where you would like the ball to land, as you swing. Overall, you generally want to play golf with confidence.

Trust your golf club to do the job it was intended to do. Standing over the ball for too long a time and wondering whether you're going to swing the club correctly can easily result in a skewed shot, or completely missing the ball. Make sure to use the proper technique.

Putts and short chips are ideally played without much movement of the body, but most other golf shots are played using variants of the full golf swing. When you swing if you have problems with your left knee buckling, imagine you're holding a soccer ball between your knees.

The backswing is a rotation to the right, consisting of a shifting of the player's body weight to the right side, a turning of the pelvis and shoulders, lifting of the arms and flexing of the elbows and wrists.

Swing slowly and steadily using a nice rhythm. Pick out a spot on the course, preferably the green of the fairway, and concentrate on hitting the ball to that spot. Use the muscles in your legs and trunk when you swing.

At the end of a swing, the weight has shifted almost entirely to the left foot, the body is fully turned to the left and the hands are above the left shoulder with the club hanging down over the players' back.

It's difficult for a golfer to practice hitting shots longer than short pitch shots unless one pays to play golf or pays to practice at a driving range or indoor golf training facility.

Conditioning your golf muscles will reward you with straighter swings. Hold a medicine ball and turn back and forth; it must be rotational to improve your driving distance. Turn to golf exercise and techniques if you want strength and power.

Most of all don't waste your money on a golf swing aid you don't need or will never use. golf aids are often for sale at your pro shop or local golf shop. Be careful about the claims on TV commercials and magazine ads; seek expert advice before you buy because they may not live up to their claims.

There are a wide range of golf swing aids on the market today to help the beginning and advanced golfer. Whether you're a seasoned golfer or just starting out, pick just one golf swing aid and go to work on your swing. Keep in mind that with some golf swing aids, you may still need advice or help from an expert.

golf swing aids come in all shapes and sizes including apparel type accessories to correct alignment or a golf club add-on accessory to monitor your swing. If you're looking for an aid to improve your stance they're not hard to find. Before buying any golf swing aid, check with an expert to get an idea of what problem you need to work on first; backlift of golf swing, momentum of downward thrust or stance for example.

golf magazines often review the newest golf swing aids and are reviewed by golfers, making it easy to choose the right one for you. You can find golf swing aids that will help you with your wrist and arm position.

Take as many private lessons as you can afford with a good golf pro. Try to concentrate on one golf swing weakness at a time. Golfers can never get enough golf tips.

Career Planning After Retirement: Ideas for Self Employment

Why career planning after retirement? There are many reasons to keep working. You may need the extra retirement income. You may miss the social interaction of the workplace. Maybe you're bored and realise that hobbies aren't enough to fill your days. Or maybe your other half is threatening to brain you if you don't get out of their hair and find something to do!

Whatever the reason, more and more people are resuming some form of employment after official retirement.

Career planning after retirement can present the opportunity to do something completely different. If you were an accountant, now you can be a freelance writer. If you were a nurse, now you can train to be a yoga instructor. When it comes to making money after retirement, the only limits are your aptitude and determination.

Decide on the basics first.

Do you want to work full time or part time? Do you want to work at home or go out to an office? Are you interested in sales or a service business? Do you like dealing with people or would you rather work on your own?

If your own business has been your goal for a while, you may already have some ideas for self employment in mind. Do your research. Go to your local library and check out books on entrepreneurship and setting up your own business. Go online and investigate other people who are engaged in similar enterprises.

If you know you want to work for yourself, but can't narrow it down to a particular business, then again, go to the library. Roam the aisles with a pen and paper and jot down any and all ideas for self employment. Brainstorm when reading the paper and watching television. You can get ideas anywhere. Surf the internet and get inspiration from across the globe.

Take your time and do your homework! You don't want to set up your own small business and then discover you hate it.

Maybe at first glance your dream job seems like it would be too time consuming (or too costly to set up). The whole idea of making money after retirement, of career planning after retirement, is to give you more freedom, not to tie you down to a desk and burden you with debt.

In that case, why not take it virtual? If running a real riding stable would be too much, why not set up a website about riding stables and horses? If bass fishing is your thing, but the idea of a shop or tour operation seems like too much work, why not have a website that sells fishing equipment or promotes other people's guided fishing tours?

If you think that sounds unworkable, try doing a search online for any term that interests you. I'll bet you'll find people making money with websites on the same theme. Whatever you decide to do, remember that you have experience and maturity on your side. This is your chance to do something for you.

How Are You Spending Your Summer Vacation?

The sight of blue lupine growing wild by the side of the road. The sound of crickets humming on a hot, summer day while you read in the hammock. The smell of sumac as you hike on a local trail. The taste of freshly cut watermelon. The feel underfoot of the tide rushing back out to the sea.

These are treats mostly relegated to a few summer months. We spend more than half the year eagerly anticipating these simple pleasures, and then rarely have the quiet moment or luxury of extended empty hours to truly enjoy what was so expected and natural when we were children.

Another special summer childhood adventure was overnight camp. Remember the fear at arrival with all the nervous worries? Who are these other kids? What is expected of me? I dont know if I can do it

And then a week or two later, the fear was always replaced with mastery of new sports like sailing or archery, confidence in newly acquired outdoor living skills such as building fires or identifying edible berries, and camaraderie of new friends.

Make the most of these short-lived longer days, great weather, and brief interludes we get in summer. plan what youll do as if you really did have a chunk of time earmarked for an experience just like those you enjoyed at summer camp. How do you really want to spend this precious season?

Indulge Your Desire to read, listen to music, watch Movies
* Go to an outdoor concert and bring a picnic
* read a book outside your preferred genre; indulge an urge for a mystery, romance or thriller
* See a just released romantic comedy or action flick in a nicely chilled theater

Notice the Season and Its Bounty
* hand-crank ice cream with summer berries
* Pick Your Own corn and other veggies
* Gather seeds from flowers to extend your beds next year

Make New Friends & Time for favorite Friends
* plan half-distance play dates with people you dont see often
* Join a book club and offer to host a meeting
* Put a personal profile on one of the online social networking sites

test & Enjoy Your Physical Being
* Try sea kayaking or wall climbing
* Start or end your day with a neighborhood walk
* Strengthen your core with Yoga or Pilates

learn Something New
* Immerse yourself in a foreign language
* Try a new style of cooking or perfect a recipe
* teach yourself to make a kite and then fly it!

I encourage you to make the most of this summer. take a time out from your usual routine and obligations to create space for experimenting with genuine fun and maybe a new passion or two.

If this seems impossible, you need immediate help! Im jesting only a bit. If youve lost track of your inner child, seek out the counsel of close friends (who knew you when you were knee high) or a coach. They can detect those inner yearnings and lost passions. Life is meant to be satisfying and fun.

Gotta go! Fresh rhubarb growing in the backyard is just screaming to be baked in a pie yum, yum.

Dealing with Anxiety and Panic Attacks

Are you having a difficult time dealing with anxiety and panic attacks? Perhaps it would ease your mind to know that you are not alone. anxiety is a normal emotional and physiological response when you feel threatened, even if the threat is only imagined.

Your experience of anxiety might range from mild uneasiness or worry to severe panic. At normal levels, a small shot of anxiety can motivate you and enhance your performance, but if anxiety becomes too severe or goes on for long periods of time, it can become debilitating.

So how do you know if what youre experiencing is an actual panic attack? The symptoms are pretty east to spot. Your heart might start to race, perhaps you start to sweat, and you might have a feeling of helplessness and hopelessness. Maybe you start to feel dizzy with a stuck feeling in your heart.

While anxiety has never killed anyone directly (no youre heart wont actually stop!), the stress of it can be pretty debilitating at times. In fact dealing with anxiety and panic attacks is exhausting. The stress of it can wear you out. You know you need to relax but when panic occurs relaxation seems impossible.

Well just how do you deal with anxiety and panic attacks? Obviously panic does not really attack. Panic and anxiety are emotional responses not physical attacks. There is no jiu-jitsu for anxiety. But you dont have to live your life in fear and anxiety either. There are many great techniques for dealing with anxiety and panic attacks. You could try yoga, massage, tai chi, or going for a good run. many people use hobbies to reduce anxiety. For instance, my wife makes artist trading cards and quilts. Some people scrapbook. Anything you can use to take your mind off your problems, again real or imagined.

Some people take medication such as Imipramine or Doxepin. I have to admit, Im not a big fan of using prescription drugs for lifestyle issues. That said, your symptoms might be too severe for natural treatment. If not you might be more inclined to a natural herbal treatment such as L-theanine, an amino acid found in green tea. Another one you might try is Valerian extract, a safe and effective natural sedative.

Its important to remember that while panic disorders wont really harm you, they are serious enough that you need to address them. If you go for months and cant get out of your funk, you just may want to consult your doctor. But before things get to that level try learning how to deal with anxiety and panic attacks in a more natural manner.
